As powder advances have come along, cartridges of that higher velocity continue to be marked +P... but the pressures of mopdern +P are only slightly above current standard velocity ammo. All use will eventually wear a handgun, and +P will accelerate the wear (obviously) versus standard, but your all steel 60 is perfectly safe for +P if it's in proper working order.
