Thankfully, the temp gauge would return to actual temp pretty quick (1-2 minutes), and driving was normal. Our dealer applied a transmission software update, and the issue hasn’t recurred.

There however two possibilities why you are seeing this happen: either your OBD2 reader cannot fully read your Freelander or the sensor is genuinely dying. If the sensor is on it's way out this should produce noticeable symptoms with the car. WebFeb 9, 2016 · No problems detected after the 90 minute wait. Started the car and the fault was gone. Started driving again (made it 2kms) only to have the same fault return, and then an amber "Gearbox Fault" appeared. I got it towed home. Got a mechanic to come out the next day and he couldn't find any issues. All fluids were good.
