AND there is a standard looking u-joint there connecting the front and rear driveshafts. The front driveshaft also contains a slip yoke, which is pulled apart to remove/install the carried bearing.

When it fails completely, the driveshaft will fall down and since it is the front joint worst case it can cause the car to flip over. Best case it will make a lot of noise and cause damage the body.
