When I got down to the point where you are, I had trans oil inside the pully seemingly leaking from the maingear/5th gear oil seal. When I removed the lockplate from over the sprocket nut, the sprocket nut was only finger tight.

If the splines are damaged on the rotor then you lost the clamp load. This can cause the spacer to be damaged. The spacer uses a metal to metal seal and relies on clamp load.
