I have tried to update the firmware on the dock and it ran successfully same with the VGA Drivers. I also updated the Thunderbolt firmware and am still getting the error. There is no clear way to revert the Firmware update, so we opted to replace the dock at the user's workstation with one that has not been "upgraded". But that puts us back to issue number one.
